Assessment Overview
IBDP assessments can earn up to 45 points total:
- Students take six subjects that earn up to seven points per class (42 points total)
- Students can earn up to three additional bonus points from their combined performance in Theory of Knowledge and on the Extended Essay (42 + 3 = 45 points)
- Students must score a minimum of 24 points and meet the following requirements to earn the IB diploma:
- They must earn a minimum of 12 HL points
- They must earn minimum of 9 SL points (if students take 2 SL classes, then 5 points)
- They may not incur any scores of 1, no more than two 2s, and no more than three 3s out of the maximum of 7 points per class
IBDP Assessments Overview by Subject:
These take place throughout the entirety of the two year program and are not given all at once. Many of the external assessments, however, are given in May of senior year. More details about each of the external and internal assessments listed below can be found in the individual subject briefs and guides posted in the DP curriculum page under the "About" tab above.
